The Suitcase

A writing competition for students

In this suitcase are my family's memories!!! My family has had this suitcase since the start of the Second World War. It has been to York when some of Guernsey was evacuated. My Grandma took it with her. My Granddad had it when she returned. It has all of my family's memories in since, well, before the First World War.

It is a faded light, brown, frayed (on the edges) small suitcase. My great great Grandad had it, then he passed it down the family, father to son, granddad to grandson. It has great meaning to me and my family will hopefully keep it forever and ever. I will never give it away (apart from to my son or grandson) or trade it. It doesn't matter what someone offers me I will never ever ever give it away. I hope my son, daughter, grandson or granddaughter will do the same. This suitcase means the world to me.
