The Suitcase

A writing competition for students

"We are going away to Thailand, so go and pack, Lizzy. Your suitcase is in the attic so go and get it." Lizzy reached the staircase to the attic and thought her mum had never let her go in it before. Lizzy remembered that when she was young she pretended that it was haunted with the suitcase ghost.

The suitcase ghost was a deadly suitcase who ate anyone who walked into the attic, by simply opening its mouth and gulping. One day Lizzy managed to get a glimpse of the ghost with her own eyes. It was a floating white substance which was shaped like a suitcase, it had white fangs with dribble falling from them. She ran and hid from this terrifying monster.

"Lizzy! Lizzy! Lizzy, come on hurry up we have to get packing for the flight tomorrow so go and get the suitcase from the attic now!" Lizzy stumbled up the mahogany stairs petrified of the monster lurking within the dusty attic. Her suitcase was in sight but she didn't want to move in case the monster showed up and killed her. Lizzy decided that the best thing was to sprint and get it, then to hurry back. Counting in her head 1, 2, 3, Go! Running to the suitcase, using all her strength, she lifted it up and walked back because it was too heavy. Peering around to check she was safe, she walked slowly down in case it surprised her. Lizzy put it on her bed and opened the mouth, but what she didn't realise was she was carrying the monster the whole time. Lizzy was swallowed and was digested in the monster's stomach. Her parents never found her, all they found was the suitcase on her bed.
