The Suitcase

A writing competition for students

Jamie and Lauren both had strawberry hair. They were both eleven and at this time they were strolling down Oxford Street when they saw a man, who was muttering in an American accent. He took a glance and then attempted to tread towards the abandoned oil company.

Lauren thought they should go and creep up on him. Jamie agreed and in they went. Jamie peered in the keyhole and saw the man open his suitcase and pull out a newspaper article. It read ‘IMPORTANT ORB MISSING’ with a description of what the orb looked like. Suddenly, Lauren stepped on a creaky floorboard causing the man to spin round and growl at them and he started to run towards them.

Luckily the two of them were quick runners, and they outran the man to their homes. Their parents both had a conversation with each other due to them being so late. They decided to ground them.

Lauren and Jamie both escaped from their parents and met up at the oil company.

They crept into the hallway which was covered in slime and burst open the door. “Ha, so this is who can stop me!” said the man who was mocking. He put Lauren in an arm lock and stood in front

of a lava pit. “Attack me, and your little girlfriend will die!” he said to Jamie. “Wait!” the man said. “I haven’t introduced myself. I am Dragomir Voltan the man who stole the orb.”

“Plan 471!” yelled Jamie. Lauren backflips and hits Dragomir with the point of her high heel. Dragomir screams in pain as he falls into the lava pit. The two of them race with the orb to the police and show it to them. They get thanked but the country forgets them quickly.
