The suitcase

I found a suitcase in a time capsule. It was old, smelled of dust, it was damp and blue. I opened it and saw a map dating back to the Aztecs. It told me where to find treasure! For months on end it’s been lying under my bed.

I am at last allowed to look for the hidden treasure. I got the money to buy the boat that I needed to go on the trip. I set sail on the big, blue, sea. On the first day all was calm. I wished the fifth day would be the same, but I was wrong. I was sleeping in my cabin with my dad. I woke to the crew shouting, “We are sinking! To the lifeboats.” I got a book, the cat, cat food, food, water, biscuits, and flint and steel. I woke Dad and ran to the lifeboats with him. There was one left. Me, Dad and the captain got in and dropped the lifeboat into the water. We took turns rowing. The captain went first.

We ate the biscuits within 12 days, then we saw in the distance some islands. It would take half a day to reach the nearest one. We have arrived, as luck would have it. It was Hawaii! We phoned for help and they will pick us up tomorrow! I never knew that the treasure was the smoothies in Hawaii!
